At 12pm ET today, Friday, September 26, Conversation Tree Press will make “a few copies” of their $275 Collector’s Edition of Isaac Asimov’s Foundation available on their website. These will probably go fast, will ship immediately, and they come with first rights to the press’s forthcoming Foundation and Empire Collector’s Edition.

According to Conversation Tree Press, the Collector’s Edition was letterpress printed on Munken Pure Rough Cream 120gsm (80lb) paper by Hand & Eye Letterpress in London, and hand bound by Ludlow Bookbinders in premium cloth.
The UV-printed art is the work of Gregory Manchess, who also signed each edition, including five full-color landscape plates tipped in by hand, and seven pen-and-ink portraits printed via letterpress. On the spine, the title and the emblem of the Galactic Empire were foil-stamped in silver. The handmade slipcase is board wrapped in linen, with a “beautiful glimmer effect.”

Isaac Asimov’s Foundation was first published as a series of short stories in John W. Campbell’s Astounding Science Fiction magazine in the 1940s, before its publication as a novel by Gnome Press in 1951. It was followed by four sequels and two prequels. The third season of Apple TV+’s adaptation just wrapped up earlier this month, with a fourth season on the way.
