Fablelistik Editions, a new limited editions imprint of Macmillan, recently revealed plans to publish four distinct, high-quality editions of Rebecca Yarros’s popular fantasy novel, Fourth Wing, in December 2025. Each edition promises a unique blend of premium materials, bespoke artistry, and illustrations, while catering to different price points.
Macmillan launched Fablelistik, which is led by publishing director Taylor Armstrong, in October 2024. Fourth Wing will be its fifth title after Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, V.E. Schwab’s The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, Jason Rekulak’s Hidden Pictures, and Jennifer Saint’s Ariadne. Buried within the Fourth Wing edition descriptions, there is an indication that Fablelistik plans to give Iron Flame a similar treatment in the future.
All four Fourth Wing editions will be signed by Yarros and feature “at least seven original pieces of art” by Helena Schmalz. The text will be set in Times Ten LT Std. “All major headlines, including dragon-wrapped drop caps at the start of each chapter, are in Basgiath Font,” a custom typeface named by Rebecca Yarros herself.
“Each chapter begins with a beautifully crafted illustration inspired by key moments in the story,” Fablelistik says. “Thoughtfully designed with subtle Easter eggs—some symbolic, some literal—these chapter openers offer a playful visual thread to follow, adding a layer of discovery and delight as you return to the world of Fourth Wing.”

Character-based collector’s editions
At the lowest price point ($185), there are two unique Collector’s Editions — one designed for Violet Sorrengail and another for Xaden Riorson, the two main characters in Fourth Wing. Each edition includes a character-specific cover and slipcase, plus “interior artwork that illustrates fan-favorite scenes” from each character’s perspective. Only 5,000 copies will be printed for each character, and they will also include a reimagined map of The Continent by Virginia Allyn as front endpapers, and a reimagined map of Basgiath.

A silver-foiled Numbered Edition
At $705, the Numbered Edition will be limited to 500 individually numbered copies that come with an Empyrean Matching Right, “allowing these customers first right to purchase their matching number for the next title in the series, Iron Flame.”
The cover design represents “the combined powers of Violet’s lightning wielding and Xaden’s command of shadows, shown through the marbled cloth case, accented with silver foil stamped lightning.” This edition includes all of the combined art from the two Collector’s Editions, plus additional art exclusive to the Numbered Edition, while “the endpapers feature a custom dragon scale design foil stamped onto a premium black paper.”

A hand-painted leather Lettered Edition
At $3,600, only 26 copies of the Lettered Edition will be printed, each designated with a unique letter (A-Z). Fabelistik says it “pays tribute to the Empyrean dragons with real gold foil detailing, and handcrafted dragon scales, handpainted with leather dyes on a fair goatskin cover.” It features all of the art from the Numbered Edition plus one additional illustration.
